One in Four exists to provide a safe and restorative environment for those who have experienced any form of abuse.  The aim of the Charity is to empower them in moving forward with their lives.

Background

The Charity’s name derives from the fact that one in four adults have experienced sexual abuse of some kind.  One in Four supports survivors of abuse by offering one-to-one specialised therapy/counselling; advocacy and group/workshop support together with a helpline and a Service User Forum.

We are a user-led organisation aiming to meet the needs of anyone (irrespective of gender or ethnicity) who has experienced sexual abuse and/or violence by helping them establish ordinary fulfilling lifestyles.  We are a unique charity with no geographical boundaries.

The nature of our services is advisory, therapeutic and educational, enabling victims to report crimes where appropriate work through the trauma of sexual abuse and violence and finding ways for individuals and their families to re-build their lives and re-integrate with their communities.
