Saturday 30th June 2012 for the Bellingham ‘Big Dance’ Festival

We had a very successful day, we raised £136, made many more people aware of One in Four and we had lots of fun.

We were very close to the dance arena and we literally had people dancing their way around the stalls, it’s impossible not to join in so we were often to be seen dancing as well!  All the prizes were donated, some from big names like Homebase who gave us £20 worth of plants but many more from smaller shops and business.  From the parade of shops adjacent to our premises – Charmaine from the hair and beauty saloon donated a wash and blow dry, Siobian who also works from Charmaines came to the festival and  donated 3 15 minute beauty treatments that went down very well.  Andreas, the boutique that sells designer dresses and ball gowns etc., dontated a lovely picture frame and a matching necklace and bracelet.  Mrs Patel from SK News gave us a tin of biscuits with an olympian theme.  Raymond of The Sunflowers Florists gave us a lovely fern and wrapped it as well.  Lastly, Andrew from Bromly Road Fish shop gave us 5 vouchers for £3.50 – 3 of which blew away in a sudden gust of high wind and were never found! The winner of the beans

We also had many individuals who donated, one of the supporters mum donated the designer sunglassess and the pretty rings that many people tried many times to win.  Linda paid the £28 it cost to buy all the bottles of washing liquid and conditioner that everyone was happy to win.  More than one of our supporters who couldn’t be there gave us lots of other nice prizes for people to win.Beauty treatment

12pm – 6pm

Taking a well earned break

Mountsfield Park

4th June

The sponsored walk along the river raised £875.  As this was a supporters of One in Four initiative it has been agreed that this money will be spent on refurbishment of the (Mint) Counselling room which needs doing and is apt as 2 of the walkers, who raised half the money between them, use that room for their therapy.  The original £675 was bumped up to £875 by donations from Jackie, one of our longest serving volunteer counsellors and One in Four Trustee Baroness Emerton.  Well done to all who took part and many thanks to the sponsors.  It was such a lovely and successful day we are going to make it an annual event!

Saturday 23rd April at 10.30am

Not content with repainting the office, hall, landing and stairs the supporters have now offered to redecorate the Lavender room.  Mint green has been suggested to match the sofas and the throws, lovely.

Saturday 19th February – Bring a Brush

Some of our loyal supporters had already joined in and re-painted the office – now they have painted the stairs and landings!  It looks great.

They didn’t really need to bring a brush, we  provided that along with lots of tea and biscuits and old clothes to wear – Natasha looked fine with a pillowcase wrapped around her head.  Sorry about no photo’s – technical hitch.

Saturday 17th January 2011

What a great effort from our supporters re-painting the office on Saturday, it looks lovely.  All the staff have asked me to pass on their thanks for making their working environment so much nicer.
