One in Four recruits counsellors and therapists to work with survivors of CSA and sexual/domestic violence.
We offer excellent training opportunities and high-quality supervision and support for volunteer counsellors and student placements.
One in Four supports the development of volunteer counsellors and student placements. We ask all volunteer counsellors including students to make a 24-month commitment to the client work, as we can offer up to a two year commitment to working with our clients.
Volunteers need to be aware that clients’ material can often be extremely graphic and traumatic and we need to ensure all counsellors have a level of personal resilience to support them in working with these issues.
Counsellors in placement must have the following:
- Individual insurance
- Be a member of the BACP/NCS or other equivalent body
- A minimum of 50 counselling hours with another placement.
- Have a private supervisor in addition to the free supervision provided by One in Four
- Be in personal therapy
