We are delighted to announce the appointment of Islay O’Hara as the new Chief Executive Officer of One in Four.

Islay officially steps into on Tuesday 14th April 2026, following eight years with the organisation as our Grants and Trusts Fundraiser. During that time, she has played a key role in securing vital funding and helping to strengthen the financial foundations that support and sustain our services for adult survivors of child sexual abuse.

Alongside her work within One in Four, Islay has built a career in public relations and strategic communications, supporting organisations to strengthen their voice, increase visibility, and drive meaningful growth. She brings extensive experience in strategic leadership, communications, and organisational development, alongside a deep understanding of One in Four’s mission, values, and the communities we support.

As demand for specialist services continues to grow, Islay’s appointment marks an important step in the charity’s ongoing development and future direction.

Speaking about her appointment, Islay said:

“I’m incredibly proud to be stepping into the CEO role at One in Four. Over the past eight years, I’ve seen first-hand the life-changing impact of this organisation’s work and the importance of creating spaces where survivors feel heard, supported, and able to move forward.

One in Four has a strong foundation, a highly skilled team, and a clear sense of purpose. I’m excited to lead the next phase of growth for the organisation, strengthening our voice, expanding our reach, and ensuring more survivors can access the sustained, specialist support they deserve.”

We are delighted to welcome her into the role.”

As Islay steps into the CEO position, we are also pleased to welcome Liz Tootell as our new Grants and Trusts Fundraiser, ensuring continued strength in this vital area of our work.

We look forward to this next chapter for One in Four and the opportunities ahead as we continue to grow our impact and support survivors in rebuilding their lives.
